I believe art has the power to shift how we think about and support people of every ability. My work brings creative, sensory experiences into everyday spaces, homes, aged care facilities, and community settings, helping create moments of genuine connection, calm and self-expression for people who are so often overlooked.
About Gabrielle
I'm Gabrielle Gibbins, a sensory art practitioner and the founder of Empowering Art for All, based on the Tilligerry Peninsula in Tanilba Bay, New South Wales.
My path here wasn't a straight line. I hold a Diploma of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Communication Design, and my background is in graphic design, visual merchandising and art facilitation. I've also travelled through parts of Europe, an experience that continues to shape my creative eye. Over time, that grew into something bigger a creative wellbeing practice that now supports people across Port Stephens, Newcastle and the Manning Valley.
I mainly run one-on-one sensory art sessions, tailored to each person I work with, as well as group sessions for aged care and dementia communities. I also work with homeschool families and NDIS participants, including people on the autism spectrum. Whatever the setting, my focus is the same, creating a warm, welcoming space where people can explore, create and simply be themselves, no art experience necessary.
I believe the process matters just as much as the final piece. Whether it's paint, pattern, texture or something more unexpected, I love finding the version of art-making that suits each person in front of me.
When I'm not running sessions, I'm often working on my own art practice, alongside supporting local businesses with their marketing and creative needs.
